Stored XSS via unsanitized administrator settings
Published Apr 18, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Daniele De Rosa Backend Designer 1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through admin settings. The plugin stores administrator-supplied settings without sufficient input sanitization and later renders them without adequate output escaping. Administrator privileges are required, and exploitation is limited to multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; visiting an injected page executes the stored script.
