Reflected script execution via unescaped Debug Console URI
Published Apr 18, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Reflected XSS in WP 404 Auto Redirect to Similar Post 1.0.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted 404 URI. With Debug Mode enabled, the Debug Console outputs the requested URI without sufficient escaping, reflecting attacker-controlled markup into the page. Exploitation requires a victim to follow a crafted link to a site where Debug Mode is enabled, exposing the victim's browser session to script execution.
