Stored XSS via unsanitized iframe embed content
Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Excalidraw 0.16.0 through 0.16.3 and 0.17.0 through 0.17.5 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript via an embed. The embeddable component places untrusted content into iframe srcdoc and incompletely sanitizes HTML attributes while allowing same-origin execution. A user must insert or open the crafted embed; the script runs in the hosting domain's origin and can read or modify accessible page data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
