CVE-2024-32463Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting via whitespace-obfuscated JavaScript URLs

Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Phlex allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in another user's browser through a crafted link href. The attribute renderer checks href values for the javascript scheme without removing embedded tabs or newlines, allowing an obfuscated scheme to pass. Exploitation requires an application to render attacker-controlled link data and another user to click it; a policy blocking inline scripts prevents execution.
