Process-memory disclosure via short NCRUSH input
Published Apr 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
FreeRDP before 2.11.6 and 3.0.0 through 3.4.0 contains an out-of-bounds read that lets remote attackers read process memory. ncrush_decompress reads a 32-bit word from pSrcData without first ensuring SrcSize is at least four bytes. A peer supplying a compressed NCRUSH block shorter than four bytes can expose up to four adjacent bytes, potentially revealing address-layout data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
