Authenticated arbitrary file upload via extension validation
Published Jul 18, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Brizy – Page Builder 2.4.44 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to place arbitrary files on servers. The validateImageContent function called by storeImages fails to reject dangerous extensions; version 2.4.44 blocks only .sh and .php files. Contributor access is sufficient, and code execution requires the server to treat an uploaded file as executable code.
