CVE-2024-32392Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator-session code execution via unescaped file parameter

Published Apr 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Reflected XSS in CMSimple 5.15 allows remote attackers to execute browser scripts through a crafted link opened by an administrator. The printlink() function in cmsimple/functions.php appends the file parameter directly to a generated URL without HTML escaping, allowing injected markup to execute in the administrator's browser. Exploitation requires an administrator to follow the link; the published proof of concept exposes the session cookie, enabling authenticated template modification and server-side code execution.
