Subscriber-level option modification via missing capability check
Published May 4, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in ConvertPlus 3.5.25 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to set arbitrary WordPress options to true. The cp_dismiss_notice() function accepts an option name without verifying the caller's capability, then writes a true value to that named option. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; consequences depend on the selected option and are limited to changes representable by a true value.
