Authenticated command execution via unfiltered mru parameter
Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
OS command injection in TOTOLINK X5000R Firmware 9.1.0cu.2350_B20230313 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The setL2tpServerCfg handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi passes the mru field to a shell command without neutralizing command syntax. Access requires a valid router login and a crafted L2TP configuration request; successful injection grants command execution on the appliance.
