Authenticated command execution via unsanitized ipsecPsk
Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
OS command injection in TOTOLINK X5000R Firmware 9.1.0cu.2350_B20230313 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The setL2tpServerCfg handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi passes the ipsecPsk value into a shell command without neutralizing backtick syntax. A valid management login and access to the router's web interface are required; injected commands run on the network appliance and can read or alter its data and interrupt service.
