Local code execution via unchecked VPN client IP
Published Apr 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Buffer overflow in LBT-T300-T400 Firmware 3.2 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted VPN client IP. The config_vpn_pptp function in the rc program accepts vpn_client_ip without a length restriction, overflowing its destination buffer. Exploitation requires access to the router's authenticated PPTP VPN configuration request and can execute code in the firmware process.
