Authenticated file deletion via filter bypass
Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Arbitrary file deletion in CmsEasy 7.7.7.9 allows remote authenticated users to delete server files through a database action. The dedetedir_action function in lib/admin/database_admin.php passes the attacker-controlled db_dir path to unlink after a traversal filter that repeated slash-and-dot sequences bypass. Access requires a valid backend session; successful exploitation deletes the chosen server-side file and provides no reported read or execution capability.
