Unauthenticated password disclosure via AJAX error response
Published May 17, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Information disclosure in W3 Eden WordPress Download Manager 3.2.82 and earlier allows remote attackers to obtain protected-file passwords. The password-validation handler in src/Package/PackageLocks.php places configured plaintext passwords in the AJAX error response after an invalid password is submitted. No account or user interaction is required; disclosure defeats the password lock and permits access to the associated protected download.
