Code execution via unchecked IGS structure read
Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in PS/IGES Parasolid Translator Component before 27.1.215 and Simcenter Femap before 2406 allows attackers to execute code. The parser reads beyond an allocated structure because it does not validate crafted data; ZDI locates the Simcenter flaw in IGES_2022_2. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted IGS file and runs code with the current process's privileges; malformed input can also crash the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
