Type confusion in Siemens Simcenter Femap before 2406 allows remote attackers to execute code by opening a malicious IGS file. The IGES_2022_2 executable fails to validate user-supplied IGS data before using it as an incompatible type; Siemens also identifies the flaw in PS/IGES Parasolid Translator Component before 27.1.215. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit a malicious page, and resulting code runs in the current process.
