CVE-2024-32046Network attack vector

Server path disclosure via retained wrapped errors

Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information disclosure in Mattermost Server allows remote authenticated users to read full server file paths through crafted API requests. The nondeveloper-mode HTTP and WebSocket handlers cleared AppError.DetailedError but retained its wrapped error, which serialization returned to the requester. A valid low-privilege account and an API request that triggers a wrapped server error are required; exposure is limited to diagnostic details such as storage paths.
