Remote command execution via shell-built caption command
Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Command injection in bmaltais kohya_ss before 23.1.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands on POSIX servers. The gradio_git_caption_gui_tab function concatenates user-controlled train_data_dir and other fields into a command passed to os.system. Unauthenticated access to the Gradio interface on a POSIX host is sufficient; the published proof does not exploit Windows because subprocess.run does not invoke a shell.
