CVE-2024-32019Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via untrusted search path

Published Apr 12, 2024 · Updated Sep 6, 2024

Untrusted search path handling in Netdata Agent 1.45.0 through 1.45.2 allows local users to execute arbitrary programs with root permissions. The root-owned SUID ndsudo helper searches the caller-supplied PATH for allowlisted command names and executes the first match with root permissions. Any local account permitted to run ndsudo can supply a writable search directory; releases 1.44.0-60 through 1.45.0-168 are also affected.
