Incorrect authorization decisions via overwritten subject-set mappings
Published Apr 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Authorization logic error in AuthZed SpiceDB before 1.30.1 allows remote authenticated users to receive incomplete LookupSubjects results. SubjectByTypeSet.Map overwrites an existing entry when multiple source relation types map to the same key instead of unioning their subject sets. High-privilege API access and the specific relation, relationship, and arrow pattern are required; affected callers can make incorrect negative authorization decisions.
