Authenticated network mapping via unrestricted recipe URL
Published Apr 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SSRF in Mealie before 1.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to map HTTP servers reachable from the application network. The safe_scrape_html function passes an unrestricted, user-controlled recipe URL to an outbound GET request and exposes reachability through distinct error responses. Authentication is required, but affected defaults permit open registration and retain a known default account; the bounded result is discovery of reachable HTTP services.
