Unauthenticated code execution via rendered search text
Published Apr 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 25, 2025
Eval injection in XWiki Platform allows remote attackers to execute code through unauthenticated DatabaseSearch requests. Main.DatabaseSearch places the text parameter in generated RSS content that rendering transformations evaluate, allowing injected Groovy macros to run. The page is accessible to visitors on public wikis and users on closed wikis, and successful exploitation grants code execution across the installation.
