Administrator-session script execution via unsanitized SSID
Published Oct 30, 2024 · Updated Oct 31, 2024
Stored XSS in Hitron CODA-4582U firmware 7.2.4.5.1b8 allows remote attackers within Wi-Fi range to execute scripts in an administrator's browser. The wireless settings page stores JavaScript in either SSID field without sanitization, and the default status overview renders it after login. Wi-Fi network access and subsequent administrator interaction are required; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled script in the management session.
