CVE-2024-31964Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated configuration modification via source-IP session reuse

Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Authentication bypass in affected Mitel SIP phone firmware allows remote attackers to modify configuration through the web interface. The HTTP administrative panel associates recent authenticated state with the source IP, allowing requests from that address to omit the Authorization header. A user must have logged in minutes earlier from the same source IP; successful access permits configuration changes and a device denial-of-service state.
