Server denial of service via MQBUFMH message processing
Published Jun 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Denial of service in IBM MQ 9.0 LTS through 9.3 LTS and 9.3 CD allows remote attackers to interrupt the server via messages. The server mishandles messages while an API Exit uses MQBUFMH, but IBM has not disclosed the erroneous operation or exhausted resource. Exposure requires a server configured with such an API Exit; exploitation interrupts availability without reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=9.0 LTS, 9.1 LTS, 9.2 LTS, 9.3 LTS and 9.3 CD
