CVE-2024-31873Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via hard-coded reverse-proxy defaults

Published Apr 10, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Hard-coded credentials in IBM Security Verify Access Appliance 10.0.0 through 10.0.7 allow remote attackers to obtain authentication secrets. The ibmsecurity deployment library supplies the fixed easuser username and passw0rd password as defaults in federation, OAuth, and AAC reverse-proxy configuration functions. Use of the defaults against an exposed inbound interface requires no prior privileges or user interaction and discloses protected appliance data.
