Service crash via uncleared freed JST values
Published Oct 17, 2024 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Memory corruption in EmbedThis GoAhead 6.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the server via malicious JST files. During JST template parsing, freed values remain non-null, allowing later parser operations to reuse or free the stale pointers. Exploitation requires JavaScript template support at build time and privileges to modify interpreted JST content; code execution is highly context-dependent.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
