CVE-2024-31869Network attack vector

Authenticated provider configuration disclosure via uninitialized metadata

Published Apr 18, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025

Information disclosure in Apache Airflow 2.7.0 through 2.8.4 allows remote authenticated users to read sensitive provider configuration. Gunicorn's on_starting hook did not initialize provider configuration before forking workers, so the UI's non-sensitive-only filter lacked provider sensitivity metadata and rendered protected values. The disclosure requires webserver.expose_config set to non-sensitive-only and affects provider-defined secrets, with the Celery provider identified as exposed.
