On-path interception via unchecked certificate key usage
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
Improper certificate validation in Siemens SICAM TOOLBOX II before V07.11 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept HTTPS traffic. When connecting to a managed device's TLS server, the application accepts the device certificate without checking its extended key usage attribute. An attacker positioned on the network path can therefore impersonate the managed device and read or alter the engineering session's data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
