Authenticated command execution via removeBackup parameter
Published May 23, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
OS command injection in Italtel Embrace 1.6.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through the backup-deletion API. The removeBackup route inserts an unvalidated path parameter into an OS command, permitting semicolon-delimited commands without returning their output. A valid access token is required, and injected commands run with the application user's privileges while the vulnerable route requests database-backup deletion.
