Stored XSS via unescaped uploaded filename
Published Oct 1, 2024 · Updated Oct 1, 2024
Stored XSS in FlatPress 1.3 Media Manager allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a crafted uploaded filename. The upload workflow accepts attacker-controlled HTML in the multipart filename and the Media Manager renders that name without neutralizing markup. An administrator session is required to upload the file, and execution requires a user to view the resulting Media Manager listing.
