CVE-2024-3182

EMS password disclosure during standalone installation

Published May 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Password disclosure in the TIBCO Hawk Universal Installer 6.2.0 through 6.2.3 allows local users to obtain EMS credentials. During standalone installation with EMS configured, the GUI or silent installer exposes the supplied EMS password outside hawkagent.cfg and hawkevent.cfg; TIBCO has not identified the additional storage or output locus. Low-privilege local access is required, and the exposed credential grants its configured EMS access, which can include message-stream or administrative access.
