Sensitive-information exposure via data URL iframe
Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
Stored XSS in Typora 1.6.7 and earlier allows local users to expose sensitive information through a crafted Markdown iframe. The live Markdown renderer accepts a data URL iframe containing script and executes the script instead of neutralizing the active content. The crafted content must be rendered in the desktop editor; the proof of concept demonstrates script execution with an alert, while the CVE record bounds the reported consequence to sensitive-information exposure.
