Server shutdown via uncaught malformed upload error
Published Jun 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Uncontrolled resource consumption in AnythingLLM before 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to shut down the server via an invalid upload. The upload routes passed malformed non-multipart requests directly into Multer middleware, whose uncaught parsing error terminated the Node.js server process. Access to a document-upload function is required, and exploitation interrupts the hosted service rather than only rejecting the bad request.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
