Administrator escalation via unchecked Prisma relation update
Published Jun 6, 2024 · Updated Jan 9, 2025
Privilege escalation in Mintplex Labs AnythingLLM before 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to gain Administrator access. The WorkspaceThread.update method forwards the full request body to Prisma after checking only whether any key is writable, permitting a nested users relation update. A Default or Manager role and access to a workspace thread are required; successful exploitation grants full application control.
