Improper certificate validation in Fortinet FortiClient and EMS allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept ZTNA tunnel creation. Fortinet identifies the ZTNA communication channel as the affected locus but has not disclosed which certificate check accepts an untrusted peer. An attacker must obtain a man-in-the-middle position on that channel; exploitation permits reading or altering tunnel traffic, with no availability impact reported.
