Unauthenticated file deletion via PAPI Central Communications
Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Jun 24, 2025
Arbitrary file deletion in Aruba InstantOS and ArubaOS 10 allows remote attackers to delete access-point files through PAPI. The Central Communications service processes unauthenticated PAPI requests, but HPE has not disclosed the specific parsing or validation error. Exposure requires untrusted network access to UDP port 8211; successful exploitation can remove operating-system files, damage integrity, and interrupt access-point operation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.4.0.0 <=10.4.1.0
- Affected versionversion=10.5.0.0 <=10.5.1.0
- Affected versionversion=8.10.0.0 <=8.10.0.10
- Affected versionversion=8.11.0.0 <=8.11.2.1
