CVE-2024-31472Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated privileged code execution via PAPI command injection

Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Jun 24, 2025

Command injection in HPE Aruba Networking InstantOS and ArubaOS 10 access points allows remote attackers to execute privileged code via PAPI UDP/8211. The Soft AP Daemon accepts attacker-controlled opcode 0xAC data, incompletely escapes a filename value, leaves backticks usable, and passes the resulting string to a command routine. No authentication or user interaction is required; network access to UDP/8211 is sufficient for privileged operating-system code execution.
