Unauthenticated code execution via PAPI CLI overflow
Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Jun 24, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in the CLI service of ArubaOS 10 and InstantOS allows remote attackers to execute privileged code via PAPI packets. HPE has not disclosed the affected function or the unchecked operation that overruns the CLI service's stack buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required; network reachability to PAPI on UDP port 8211 is sufficient for privileged code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.4.0.0 <=10.4.1.0
- Affected versionversion=10.5.0.0 <=10.5.1.0
