Authentication bypass in Metal³ Ironic Container Image before 24.1.1 allows local users to modify bare-metal hosts through a private API. In reverse proxy mode, HTTPD validates credentials separately while Ironic and Inspector listen on host-network TCP ports that accept unauthenticated requests. A control-plane user or pod with host-network access can reach a private port and provision a different image or change BIOS settings.
