Settings changes via missing nonce validation
Published Apr 15, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Marker.io 1.1.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to change plugin settings through a forged request. The markerio_save_option() function accepts the settings update without correctly validating a WordPress nonce. Successful exploitation requires a signed-in site administrator to open an attacker-controlled link or page, and the documented consequence is limited to unwanted plugin configuration changes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
