CVE-2024-31419Network attack vector

Host-metric disclosure via default guest exposure

Published Apr 3, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2025

Information disclosure in OpenShift Virtualization 4.15.1 allows guest OS users to read limited host metrics from their virtual machines. The DownwardMetrics feature exposes node-level host metrics through a guest-accessible virtio-serial device and enables that exposure by default. Access to any guest in any namespace is sufficient; the documented consequence is limited to host-metric disclosure, with no integrity or availability impact.
