CVE-2024-31416

Memory exhaustion via unchecked field bounds

Published Sep 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2025

Improper quantity validation in Eaton Foreseer before 7.8.600 allows local users to exhaust memory or trigger an integer overflow. Customizable fields for alarms, reports, and other parameters accept values without checking their length or numeric bounds. High privileges on the host are required, and public sources do not identify which individual fields are reachable or whether a resulting service fault is recoverable.
