Information disclosure or crash via crafted project file
Published May 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in OMRON CX-Programmer 9.81 and earlier allows attackers to disclose data or crash the application via a crafted project file. OMRON has not published which project-file parser or unchecked field causes the out-of-bounds access. A user must open the crafted file; the vendor limits the consequence to reading CX-Programmer data or crashing CX-Programmer, not affecting the host computer or connected PLC.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
