CVE-2024-31393Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cross-site scripting via unchecked dragged URL

Published Apr 3, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2024

Cross-site scripting in Firefox for iOS before 124 allows attackers to execute script in another site's context via a dragged JavaScript URL. The address-bar drop handler navigates to the dropped URL without checking its scheme, allowing a javascript: URL to run against the page loaded during the drag. Exploitation requires a user to drag a link from the current page or an iframe into the address bar; the resulting script can act with the loaded site's origin.
