Security-indicator spoofing via stale mixed-content state
Published Apr 3, 2024 · Updated Oct 30, 2024
UI spoofing in Mozilla Firefox for iOS before 124 allows remote attackers to make mixed-content pages appear secure. The URL-bar indicator does not monitor webView.hasOnlySecureContent for state changes after delayed HTTP images or forms load. A user must open an attacker-controlled HTTPS page and rely on the stale main icon; the detailed security panel still identifies the page as insecure.
