Meetup disconnection via missing nonce validation
Published Apr 12, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Xylus Themes WP Event Aggregator 1.7.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to remove a Meetup connection. The wpea_deauthorize_user() handler accepts the deauthorization request without verifying a WordPress nonce and removes the stored Meetup connection. Exploitation requires an authenticated site administrator to follow or submit attacker-controlled content; the bounded consequence is loss of that Meetup integration, not broader account compromise.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=n/a <=1.7.6 changes=[{"at":"1.7.7","status":"unaffected"}]
