CVE-2024-31286Network attack vector

Subscriber-level arbitrary file upload via missing validation

Published Apr 7, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026

Unrestricted file upload in WP Photo Album Plus before 8.6.03.005 allows remote authenticated users to place arbitrary files on the server. The wppa_user_upload() function accepts uploaded content without validating its file type, allowing dangerous executable content to pass. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; successful uploads place attacker-chosen files on the WordPress host, while code execution depends on server handling and file reachability.
