Unauthenticated Calendly settings changes via unchecked handler
Published Jun 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in EmbedPress 3.9.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to update Calendly settings through a WordPress AJAX action. The handle_calendly_data() handler accepts unauthenticated requests because it omits a capability check before writing the settings. No account or user interaction is required, and the demonstrated consequence is limited to changing the site's Calendly configuration.
