Unauthenticated privilege escalation via invalid registration role
Published May 17, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Privilege escalation in WP Sharks s2Member Pro 240315 and earlier allows remote attackers to register with elevated permissions. The registration handler accepts an invalid s2Member Level role because affected builds do not adequately validate the requested role. No account is required, and successful exploitation creates a new user with permissions above the site's configured default.
