CVE-2024-31223Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Configuration disclosure via client-side server settings

Published Jul 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information disclosure in Ethyca Fides 2.19.0 and later before 2.39.2 allows remote attackers to read backend URL configuration via HTTP GET. The Privacy Center's loadPrivacyCenterEnvironment path places SERVER_SIDE_FIDES_API_URL in clientSettings, which Next.js serializes into the public page response. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the exposed value can reveal private domain names, IP addresses, and service ports.
